At the beginning of the week, I wanted to explore different possibilities for the receiver element of my project since I wasn't 100% set on my fabric creation (see image below). I knew I liked the fabric element but wondered if the form I created was the right direction for me. So I started playing with different shapes and forms, again treating the fabric as if it were paper.
I tried using just fabric but I didn't think it would hold its shape in the long run, then I tried using both paper and fabric but wasn't keen on the result so far (images show it not finished). Comparing the two I prefer the former, I think it looks more visually interesting and diffuses the light nicely.
I also started to focus more on the narrative of the story I'm trying to tell within the project. Since my project is based on connection and connecting in a lighthearted way the current social distancing measures are an ideal scenario (obviously not ideal generally) for the interaction to take place. Of course, this is the extreme side I think, it could be used whenever someone wants to connect but in the current situation, it's a light touch to let others know you are thinking of them and in a personal way. I'm using the current Covid-19 situation in my narrative to convey what my project can do and how it can be used to connect people while at a safe distance.
Another thing I've been working on is the booklet, I've created a few spreads and sections. I'm using my blog to help guide my timeline of the project and to help me write about what I did. I've got four sections within the booklet, introduction, discover, develop and deliver. I have the basics of the introduction complete and I'm currently writing up my research within the discover section.
